Edmonton locals Greg Bowen, and Jim Playfair teamed up to create The Woodshop Guys - a custom woodwork company crafted for your lifestyle. 

Jim being a master cabinet maker with over four decades of experience, and Greg being retired from his 36+ year career recognizing a passion for woodworking while snow birding, led to their collaborative approach to their fine, exotic and hardwood product line that includes a variety of unique items and custom work.

The Woodshop Guys always have an existing inventory of boards and pens on hand for you to choose from. If you are looking for specific work to be done, details of the project are discussed and can include any customization from colours to patterns to unique and challenging products.

The Woodshop Guys have a variety of suppliers they go to for lumber. This gives them access to hand choose a range of different wood species from all over the world for your custom work. Wood is an imperfect material, but that adds to the beauty of The Woodshop Guys products. 

Once the materials are right for your custom work, the project is sized properly. When gluing together different wood pieces to complete your piece, The Woodshop Guys use only adhesives that are waterproof and food safe. 

The Woodshop Guys never use die or stain on any of their cutting or charcuterie boards. They rely heavily on the uniqueness and beauty of each wood species that bring your project to life. Instead, after straightening, shaping and sanding (depending on the project), the piece is placed in a mineral oil that is food safe and non allergenic.

Pricing of each product or custom project is based on wood species, grain, size and features.
